use your imagination

i was going to post a picture of me being tied to a door by a nepali woman. i was not allowed to leave until i finished the necklace i was making, or so she said. really though, she was giving me a resourceful way to finish the necklace i was making, which required 4 hands and which doesn't really make sense without the picture. alas, my computer is once again being difficult, so you just have to take my word for it.

i have been spending time with the women at my church who make jewelry to earn a living and support their families. they are beautiful women from broken places in life but i have so been enjoying their laughter and company.

i was going to post a picture of the ladies i made paper vases with at the leprosy hospital too. it is a good place for me because spending time with them forces me to speak nepali, something i am still not very good at. too, we got to sing some songs and share the heart of God with them--that each of them are precious to him despite everything they have lost and been through. even just before our program, the counselor there who translates for us sometimes said he would be a few minutes late due to talking with a woman who would have her leg amputated the next day. can't imagine that being me--the woman or the counselor.

i was going to post a picture of the beautiful place we stayed during study seminar, just so you could picture once more the great time we had.

and i was going to post pictures of the beautiful mountains we saw this past weekend when all the girls went up to nagarkot, a place where the himalayas are supposed to be clear and crisp. however, i cannot post these pictures because we saw no so such mountains--it was as foggy as if you were standing inside a cloud the whole time. we still had fun but it was disappointing.

but, there is always trekking! maybe this trek, that i leave on tomorrow, will bear better fruit. it will be a busy month, May will, but i am excited for this trek and to see what God will do, as well as looking forward to my mom coming the day after i get back!

i will be sure to update when i get back. for now, you will just have to try and picture all this in your head and pray that next time my pictures and computer work :)
