always there are the blank stares everyone gives when you walk into their village. what are these crazy white people doing here??
but then there is a smile once you say "namaste" and talk in Nepali...or just more stares because they can't believe you are talking in their language...
often you see the women out in the fields working working working. men too, but the women more. these women were digging a ditch to put this water pipe down into the ground...
we saw some other interesting stuff too...one day we came upon this huge house in the middle of a valley along the river. we found out it was built several hundred years ago by some governor for his wife. it was quite the place to explore!
...and oh the joy to eat something other than rice and lentils...we were about to eat a feast of fruit and sour cream and onion chips!
i arrived home last night in time to to great my mom today at the airport! she arrived safely and is currently sleeping off her 2 day trip to get here. tomorrow should be a low key day but she will get to see a little of the city and life that i live here! i am glad she is here...and i am sure there will be pictures to come!

i'm so glad you had a good time with your mommy! no matter how much you're called to a place, you still miss your family. it's good to see pictures and updates from you. i'm praying for you still. love you elisa.
