Relationships are Key

It was a good weekend. After 2 full weeks of clients, I was ready for a break! Some weeks are positive and energizing...but some are just draining and tiring and last week felt like one of them.

SO, Friday night  a few friends got to celebrate our dear friend Ashley who has been battling some tough stuff in this season of her life. From a "simple" blood transfusion, to a mini stroke, to surgery to remove a large piece of her skull to save her life all within days of each other, this girl has been through the fire lately. It has been a blessing to walk with her in a difficult and confusing time when answers as to why this is all happening to a healthy 26 year old are not clear. Yet we have been lifting her up and it is clear that Jesus still wants her on this earth for a purpose as she could have easily died. It is still a journey and there are still more things ahead for her recovery, but it has been a reminder to me that we NEED each other in our struggles. Like when Moses needed men to hold up his arms so the battle could be won in Exodus 17--people next to us give us the strength that we don't aways have. Therefore, it was a joy to celebrate her upcoming birthday together! Dinner out and a craft night were just in order :)

 Then the rest of the weekend Maria and I enjoyed a visit from her parents. It is always a pleasure to see the Hoovers and this weekend was no exception! It was fun to host them in our own place this time around and show off a little of the area we live in, such as downtown Marietta is always a fun place to explore. Maria and I always joke that we are like sisters, which is entirely true, which makes Dean and Mary Ann family too. They are wonderful, caring, generous, Godly people :)

Yay for a refreshing weekend that'll give me just enough energy for this short week before we enjoy some family Thanksgiving time!
