retreat

this weekend was spent at a retreat disguised as a class for school. it was a time of focusing on stillness, solitude, awareness of God's presence, being with him, listening, and enjoying whatever gifts he gave, big or small. it was a precious time.

it was held at a retreat center called simpsonwood in atlanta, but hidden in God's creation. there was lots of time to steal away...so once it stopped raining on saturday, i went out and enjoyed some time with Jesus and photography. there were still lots of leaves on the trees (i kept worrying they would be gone) and they had this special area called a prayer labrynth--sort of like directed prayer walk where you follow a path enclosed within a large circle with one way in and one way out. hard to explain but if you ever get a chance to do one, it's pretty cool! anyway, the enterence to the one here was very woodsy and fun to play with for the camera...and they had a chapel that was fun too.
