a little of this and that

What a BEAUTIFUL day today! this week has shown the first signs of fall with some cooler weather and i couldn't be more ready. today is one of those perfect 75 sunny clear breezy days when you don't want to do anything but sit outside under a big tree and enjoy everything around you. it is still warm sometimes, but i am glad we are starting to see signs of the coming season.

It has been a full and busy week! yesterday i FINALLY had my interview at ridgeview, the mental healthcare facility and i feel confident that i have the job. it will only be about 2 days a week but this is ok because it will be some consistent income to compliment the up and down flow of working at home ministries. plus i am looking forward to getting to work with a different kinds of people other than foster kids which will also make for some great experience in general, especially as i learn about stuff in school. next week i'll probably do all the orientation stuff before getting into working with patients.

last night i went with some friends, mary beth and her husband andrew to see our beautiful friend (and former art teacher) mrs campbell's art opening. she had 19 AMAZING paintings up in a gallery in the very cute downtown roswell, all with the theme of houses or homes that came from a series of spiritual dreams she had. i would buy them all if i could afford it. it was a special night too because once a month they do a fun thing downtown called "alive after five" when all the boutiques and resturaunts open up and have music and food and it is sort of like a festival. just a fun atmostphere. but by far, mrs campbell's work was the highlight. i felt so proud--like i knew someone famous :)

i have been enjoying my study in beth moore's "Believing God." yesterday we talked about the incredible faith of abraham to leave everything to follow the Lord to the "place I will show you" without a clue where that might be. as she pointed out, so often the challenge between going and recieving is the "faith test" of time. I love what she says here...

"Time can test almost anything and undoubtedly anyone...Time by iteself does nothing but grow us old. What we do with time makes the difference. We often say, "time heals"; yet i've known just as many whom time embittered. Only God heals. Only God restores. Only God effectively prepares, teaches, equips, and matures, but you can count on Him to often use the test tube of time in which to accomplish it. We tend to argue, "God, why are you waiting so long? I don't have much time here!" We forget that God's primary objective for us on earth is to prepare us for a city for which He is architect and builder. In the meantime, God is undoubtedly desires that our lives bear much fruit. He sees the whole picture."

Good words Beth. May be hold fast to the Lord and his promises as we wait on him and his timing.
