paradise and back

ahhhh...sun, beach, pool, reading, swimming, eating, relaxing

last week was spent with my family in one of my most favorite places ever, naples, fl

we had a great time laying out, swimming, eating at fun places, making sand castles, and staying up late watching the olympics and heros. we stayed in my aunt's condo on the beach (view from there is pictured at the bottom) it was a wonderful way to end the summer and get ready for the coming school year...
it has been a while since all of our family has been together. ben came down from wheaton and james was getting ready to head back to asbury so we had a great time doing absolutely nothing for a whole week :)

the beach was great! beautiful weather, rain only one day. we made a small sand castle that had to include a fountain for my dad and my parents' minsitry, fountain gate. i haven't done that in forever! we even sat by the pool and played bananagrams--like speed scrabble but without the rules of counting all the points.

the last night we went down to the wharf to watch the sunset...it was hidden behind the clouds...but we still had a good time walking around and eating frozen custard!

i mourned when we left :) but always, it is back to reality, right? this week i have orientation for school and then classes begin next monday! I am looking forward to starting and to getting into a schedule of things. for now i am helping at home ministries, a job that had last fall working with foster kids. it is not exactly what i want to be doing, but it is good to have some extra money. i

anyway, it was great to have time to relax and reflect before life picks up, big time.
