Last weekend in Chicago was wonderful! maria and i headed up thursday afternoon, ready for a great weekend. ben picked us up and we hung out around wheaton as he showed us around his school and the town. it was such a nice campus and seems like a great place to go to school! it was fun to see him in his element!
we got to spend thursday night with some friends from college, abby and zach, who are both working and going to graduate school in downtown chicago. it was great to see them and catch up a bit!
Friday Maria and I got to explore downtown on our own, eating at an amazing Mexican restaurant, enjoying millennium park and michigan ave, and in general just loving the beautiful weather and a day to breathe. it was a great change from school work! then we took the train to the airport again to meet Maria's family before heading back to Maria's brother's school where we stayed. Saturday we got to see his school and dorm before spending another afternoon downtown in Chicago again. Ben joined us on the train-ride into town and we had a great time at the art museum and getting chicago pizza. it was soooooo good!

Sunday was a great morning at church, out to lunch, and then to the airport! it was definitely a beautiful weekend, fun to see ben and catch up with maria's family and a good change to the current pace of life. life didn't stop, but it was nice to get away. the plane ride home i planned to study for a test i had the next morning, but ended up spending the whole flight talking to the guy next to me about life and the Lord. it was a reminder to allow myself to be interrupted by what is more important--people--in the midst of studying and life whizzing around. our conversation really challenged me and increased my desire to know the Word and just be tight with the Lord! there is more i could say about this, but this will have to do for now. hope you are enjoying this week...take a moment to be still and listen. He might bring someone across your path too.
